b-17 Yankee Lady Cancellation

As anyone involved with airshows, or even attended them knows, there are many uncertainties when it comes to flying these 80-year-old warbirds. Unfortunately, the Yankee Air Museum's B-17 "Yankee Lady" will not be able to attend our TBM Avenger airshow this year.

The museum suffered a collapse of the hangar door housing the B-17.

The good news is the airplane is inside, unharmed, and protected from the elements.

The bad news is the door collapse forced the construction of a temporary "wall" to keep the B-17 secure and enclosed but preventing egress from the hangar. There is simply not enough time to reconstruct and install a new hangar door before our event. Yankee's UH-1 Huey helicopter will still be attending and giving rides.

While the B-17 not attending is a disappointment, please be assured we will still have a large contingent of warbirds on display and flying as well as our salute to veterans on Saturday.
